Safety Critical Medicals are designed to assess an individual’s suitability for roles that include tasks that are deemed high risk or ‘safety critical’.


Every Safety Critical Medical assessment includes:

  • A full health questionnaire
  • A sight/vision assessment (visual acuity, colour vision and peripheral)
  • A hearing (audiometry) test
  • Blood pressure check
  • Spirometry function tests

and is carried out by occupational health specialists, fully trained doctors and nurses.

Connexus Health offer comprehensive Safety Critical Medicals including a same-day tests (subject to availability) within our clinics or on-site services via our mobile health units where you have a number of individuals that require assessment.

    Your industry

    Our Safety Critical Medicals are tailored to different occupations and roles, taking approximately 60 minutes to complete. Once you have successfully completed your medical, you will receive a certificate valid for two years, affirming your fitness for safety critical tasks.

    This assessment is designed to ensure that employees do not have a medical condition which could expose them to a higher degree of risk and can include:

    • Spirometry
    • Musculoskeletal assessment

    Working at Height

    Under Working At Height Regulations 2005, employees must be medically fit to work at height and therefore should undergo medical assessment.
